Meta descriptions in Shopify function similarly to title tags. They are managed in the same "Search engine listing preview" section.

Edit Description

Go to any Product, Collection, or Page

Scroll to "Search engine listing"
3
Click "Edit"

Enter text in "Meta description"
5
Aim for 150-160 characters
If left blank, Shopify grabs the first 320 characters of your description content.
Verification Checklist
- View Source > Search for <meta name="description">
- Check length is appropriate (150-160 chars)
