Title tags on landing pages impact both SEO and paid traffic quality scores. Leadpages provides complete control over page titles through their editor. This guide covers optimizing titles for conversions AND search visibility.
Prerequisites
- Leadpages account
- Landing page created or in progress
- Understanding of page purpose (lead gen, sales, etc.)
Page Settings Method (Recommended)
Configure SEO title directly in Leadpages page settings—the standard approach for all landing pages.
Access Page Settings
Open your landing page in the Leadpages builder
Click the gear icon (Page Settings) in the left sidebar
Or: Click 'Page Settings' tab at the top
Navigate to SEO Section
In Page Settings, find the 'SEO' tab
You'll see fields for: Page Title, Meta Description, Favicon
Focus on 'Page Title' for title tag optimization
Write Optimized Title
Enter your SEO title (under 60 characters)
Formula: [Main Benefit] | [Brand Name]
Example: 'Free Marketing Guide | Growth Academy'
Include primary keyword if targeting organic search
Match title to ad copy if this is for paid campaigns
Save and Publish
Click 'Save' to apply changes
Publish page to make it live
Verify in browser tab and page source

Do
- Keep titles under 60 characters
- Lead with primary benefit or value
- Match title to headline on the page
- Include brand name for recognition
- Use action words: Get, Download, Discover, Learn
- Match ad copy when used for paid campaigns
- Make titles unique for each landing page
Don't
- Use generic titles like 'Landing Page'
- Overpromise what the page delivers
- Keyword stuff or use unnatural language
- Copy titles from other pages
- Make titles too long (truncation)
- Forget to update after changing page content
- Use ALL CAPS or excessive punctuation
Verification Checklist
- View page source > Search for <title>
- Check browser tab shows correct title
- Test on Facebook Debugger for social preview
- Verify title is under 60 characters total
- If paid traffic: Check Quality Score isn't affected
